Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Cage Fighting is the fastest growing sport on the planet and Ultimate Event Promotions, LLC, (UEP) is bringing this exciting sport to you at OKTOBER FIST on October 25 at the Daphne Civic Center in Alabama.

UEP is dedicated to providing audiences with the highest quality and most professionally operated Cage Fighting events along the Gulf Coast. OKTOBER FIST will showcase the talents of some of the finest cage fighters in the South competing with other top quality fighters from around the nation.

Whether professional or amateur, UEP matches fighters not only by experience level, but by specific fighting style, to assure top quality competition. These fights will catapult local and regional fighters to the next level -- King of the Cage, PRIDE and Ultimate Fighting Championships.

Fighter safety is paramount – the 20 foot International Competition Cage is a state-of-the-art octagonal fighting enclosure that was a $10,000 purchase from Combat Sports, one of the OKTOBER FIST sponsors. Sturdy steel tube construction with heavy-duty vinyl coated chain link, full top and bottom rail covers and extra-wide (16") corner cushions add to the safety and professional appearance of the cage.

UEP Medical consultant is Dr. Albert W. Pearsall IV, Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama. He has served as Director of Sports Medicine and Head Team Physician for the University's Division I Athletic Program for the past 11 years. UEP has obtained his medical expertise regarding a variety of medical and medico-legal issues pertaining to ultimate fighting and safety within the ring.

Dr. Pearsall oversees the medical aspects at all UEP fights and advises the UEP administrative staff regarding the necessary medical examinations and laboratory tests to be conducted to insure the safety of all participants. His expertise is one aspect of UEP’s ongoing commitment by UEP to provide the utmost in professionalism and medical safety to fighters and fans.

Referee will be Biloxi native “Big John” Dixson who has held five World Titles and is currently the WKC Heavyweight Champion and European Heavyweight Champion. Known for thunderous leg kicks and fighting from the clench, Dixson has worn down some of the finest fighters in the world with his pressing style. He has faced several legends of the MMA world in the ring and is respected internationally.
