Team Krypto-Knight Perfecting “Ground & Pound” for OKTOBER FIST

Team Krypto-Knight, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) cage fighters from Meridian, MS, traveled to Baldwin County on October 11, 2008, to train in the 20 foot International Competition Cage in preparation for OKTOBER FIST.

The main components of cage fight training are boxing (upper body), wrestling (lower body) and grappling (to tap out.)

Derrick Mullins, a Boxing trainer from Chicago, instructed the cage fighters on their jabs, hooks and upper cuts. Mullins
demonstrated boxing essentials “ones” and “twos” and the fundamental “hit – don't get hit.”

Training with Mullins were Team Krypto-Knight from Meridian: Jimbo “The Rage” Roberson, Evan Walker and John Goodwin; Team Relic from Mobile, Kiko Dinkins and Team Tomaso from Fairhope, Gene “Mean Gene” Morris, Bill “The Predator” Rivers, Tyler “Hit Man” Land and Miro Peser.

FIST sponsors. Sturdy steel tube construction with heavy-duty vinyl coated chain link, full top and bottom rail covers

of Ultimate Event Promotions, LLC, at 925 Nichols Avenue Extension in Fairhope.
